Contact lens options
Soft contact lenses are the most common contact lens prescribed to correct various vision problems including myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism or presbyopia.
Rigid gas permeable lenses are more durable and can also provide good eye sight in many patients.
Specialized contact lenses such as scleral lenses might be considered for patients with various eye problems such as keratoconus.
To avoid any complication when wearing contact lenses patients are advised to:
- practise good hygiene
- take care with contact lens solutions
- replace their contact lenses as recommended
- never use water
- contact your practitioner if vision becomes blurry, eyes become red or painful when wearing contact lenses.
